Ferrari Sets February 19 as Launch Date for 2025 F1 Challenge
Ferrari has officially announced February 19, 2025, as the unveiling date for its new Formula 1 car, marking the start of its quest for championship glory in the upcoming season. This reveal will take place just one day after the official F1 season launch event at London’s O2 Arena, where all teams and drivers will debut their liveries.
The Italian team teased the launch on social media with a sleek announcement: “Get ready to meet our 2025 challenger,” sparking excitement among fans. The event is expected to occur at Ferrari’s iconic Maranello base, following its longstanding tradition.
Ferrari heads into the 2025 season with renewed ambition, fueled by the arrival of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who joins Charles Leclerc in a blockbuster driver lineup. Reflecting on the upcoming campaign, Team Principal Fred Vasseur stressed the importance of focus and efficiency:
“We have to be focused on the season. It will be a very tight period between the first day and the launch, a matter of weeks. I want everybody to focus on performance,” Vasseur said during a recent event in Maranello.
Vasseur confirmed that Ferrari has no plans for an official Hamilton presentation, choosing instead to prioritize the car’s development. This decision contrasts with the fanfare surrounding Michael Schumacher’s arrival at Ferrari in 1996 but aligns with the team’s streamlined approach.
Hamilton’s first test drive with Ferrari remains unscheduled, though a run in an older car, likely the 2023 model, is being considered at Fiorano or Maranello. Weather conditions will dictate the timing, but Vasseur expressed confidence in Hamilton’s preparation:
“He is not the rookie of the year; I am not worried at all about this. We know that we have a lot of procedures to assimilate during this couple of days, but he is experienced enough to do it,” Vasseur remarked.
Ferrari’s focus extends beyond physical tests, leveraging advanced simulator sessions to ensure Hamilton’s readiness.
“We have the advantage to have the simulator, and he will be able to do a race simulation and a qualifying simulation in the simulator and to be fully prepared with the steering wheel and all the particularities of the car. But I am not worried about this, and it is not the biggest challenge,” Vasseur added.
As the February 19 launch date nears, Ferrari fans eagerly await the unveiling of a car designed to propel the team back to championship contention. With Hamilton and Leclerc at the helm, 2025 promises to be an electrifying season for the Scuderia.
